Now through February 29, Onessimo Fine Art will present a show of work from British artist MacKenzie Thorpe titled “Crossroads”. Onessimo Fine Art elected to feature Thorpe’s works in this month of romance due to his themes about love and his graphics centered around the heart.
“Crossroads” includes original paintings, new graphic works, resin sculptures and new life size bronze sculptures. Thorpe will be on hand at Onessimo Fine Art on Saturday, February 23 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. to attend a special reception and a “Crossroads” book signing.
Thorpe grew up in an industrial town in northern England and the influences of his environment are present throughout his work. Dropping out of school at age 15 due to dyslexia did not deter Thorpe from drawing. Thorpe formally applied to a local art college and was accepted on the sheer magnitude of his works he had submitted and his level of commitment to his craft. After transferring to the Byam Shaw School in London, Thorpe was exposed for the first time to paintings in major galleries and became infatuated with modern art. He credits Rothko as one of his major influences.

| Pampered Pup Pampered Pup will be hosting a FREE puppy parenting class on Saturday, February 9 from 10 am – 12 pm. The class will be taught by Marc Street of The Happy Dog. Also on Tuesday, February 26 the Pampered Pup will be hosting a Sock Hop and Ice Cream Social from 6 – 8 pm. Humans will enjoy music from the 50’s and ice cream from Friendly’s while their pampered pups enjoy chowing down on all natural ice cream made with chicken broth. In addition, the Pampered Pup will once again be hosting Yappy Hour in conjunction with Live after Five on February 22 from 5-7 pm in the courtyard by the Oakwood Grill.
